A century-old Los Feliz estate once owned by four Hollywood stars has returned to the market. Actor Aaron Paul, known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, has relisted his Los Angeles home at a reduced price of $8.195 million. The historic property was previously owned by several notable figures, including British actor and singer Tim Curry, Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons.
Located at 2666 Aberdeen Avenue in Los Feliz, the home is well known among enthusiasts of historic Los Angeles architecture. In the 1920s, the neighborhood became home to many Spanish Revival-style mansions left from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Properties that still retain original woodwork, stucco walls, iron details, and century-old gardens are increasingly rare.
The Spanish Revival estate was designed in 1922 by architect Stiles O. Clements, who also designed the iconic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. British actor Tim Curry purchased the home in 1993 and lived there until 2000.
According to Curry, the property was in a severely neglected state when he first acquired it. The exterior had even been painted a bright red resembling a can of tomato soup. Despite its condition, he immediately placed an offer, driven by his desire to create a lifelong garden—one he could tend until the day he “fell out of a tree branch.”
Due to years of abandonment and the property’s large scale, the grounds were overgrown and filled with wildlife, including skunk dens. A large, sick elk was even found on the property and later died in the garden, while coyotes frequently wandered through. Restoring the landscape took six months, during which approximately 40 tons of overgrowth were cleared. Landscape architect Barry Sattels also uncovered stone pathways buried beneath several feet of soil, turning the work into what felt like an archaeological excavation.
Sattels restored the walkways using new Lompoc stone and designed the garden as a series of distinct thematic landscapes. The lower level features an English garden with 150 rose bushes, lavender, and silver sage. Nearby, a Mediterranean-inspired section allows potato vines to cascade from an old avocado tree against stone walls. Higher up sits a cactus garden framed by black volcanic rock and a white stone open-air theater. Further along is a tropical-style pool area, as well as a grove of toyon trees and 100 camellia bushes.
The layered landscape creates a striking visual experience, enhanced by two viewing platforms built by Curry—one designed for sunrise and the other for sunset—reflecting his idea of “setting the stage for the life you want to live.”
Over the years, the property has been owned by several celebrities, including Robert Pattinson and Jim Parsons, who sold it to Aaron Paul in 2019 for $6.95 million. Paul and his wife later hired a design firm to renovate the interior while preserving the home’s original character and its century-old gardens.
Aaron Paul has described the estate as a home with a deep soul. It is one of the earliest residences built in the hillside area and features a garden that has evolved over more than a hundred years. He has noted that its most beautiful original details remain intact, a testament to the care and respect shown by its successive owners.
Known for their refined taste in real estate, Aaron Paul and his wife also own a rustic-modern retreat in Idaho, featured in Architectural Digest’s “Open Door” home tour series. In 2025, Paul initially listed the Los Feliz property for $9.995 million before multiple price reductions. The estate spans 1.45 acres and includes three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.
