Asian Hall of Fame CEO Ming-Chin Hsieh said, “The Hall of Fame is honored to establish a philanthropic partnership with WIN. These are an amazing group of women who truly care about the communities where they live and serve. We are all here tonight to raise funds for three very special beneficiary organizations.”

Melinda Rogers, Chair of the Asian Hall of Fame Board of Directors and founder of WIN, said WIN has been in existence for 15 years. The organization was originally known as Women Investing in Nursing and has since evolved into Women Investing in Nonprofits.
“This is the second time we have hosted the cocktail event with the Hall of Fame, and it has been a great success,” Rogers said. “We have had a wonderful partnership with the Hall of Fame. Ever since I left Methodist Hospital, the Hall of Fame has continued to support WIN and help us keep moving forward. We are truly grateful.”

During the gala, three organizations with longstanding records of community service were honored: Homeboy Industries, St. John of God, and Pasadena Meals on Wheels.

Homeboy Industries has done extensive work providing second chances to people in need. Its representative said the recognition was deeply meaningful.
“People don’t have to be right all the time. Sometimes, being kind is more important than being right. Sometimes, you don’t need a brilliant mind to speak—you need a special heart to listen. That is what Homeboy Industries represents: giving people a second chance.”
A representative of St. John of God said the award is a recognition of the organization’s many years of service. It also demonstrates that the communities of Los Angeles, Glendale, and Pasadena see and appreciate the high-quality, dignified, and respectful care the organization provides to seniors.
A representative of Pasadena Meals on Wheels expressed gratitude to WIN for recognizing the organization’s service to older adults in the community. The organization provides more than just meals. Every day, someone comes to their homes, reminding seniors that someone cares about them, that they are not alone, and that they have not been forgotten.
The representative shared the story of someone whose father received Meals on Wheels services during the final five years of his life. Each time a meal was delivered, he was met with genuine care and someone who truly took notice of how he was doing. He was also able to enjoy a delicious meal every day.
The evening featured a sushi and hors d’oeuvres buffet, red-carpet photo opportunities, a pop-up boutique, the signature Build-A-Box experience, and a charity auction featuring autographed items from celebrities. The event concluded on a high note with a fashion show featuring models dressed in St. John apparel.
